In Minnesota, we would never recommend the painting of stucco. Traditional stucco is a porous material, and therefore it likes to “breathe.” When the stucco is able to breathe, any moisture inside the wall cavity has the ability to escape to the exterior. When stucco is painted, it can prevent this “breathability.” Stucco should also be almost maintenance free, while paint requires quite a bit of maintenance. If your stucco has already been painted, we can sandblast the existing stucco and refinish the stucco to look and act like new!
